A private wellness check-in

Your friends will know when you need them

BeaconLink is a private wellness check-in for people whose mood, focus or energy can dip. Set your limits and your support plan while you feel well, and chosen friends are alerted when a check-in drops.

The BeaconLink home screen showing today's Emotional, Cognitive, Physical and Social battery ratings, each with its alert line.

What you can do with BeaconLink

It lets you rate your emotional, cognitive and physical wellbeing, and sends your support plan to the friends you chose when a rating drops below your line.

  • Quick ratings

Rate Emotional, Cognitive and Physical wellbeing from 1 to 10 in under a minute, and say how much social battery you have left.

  • Your own thresholds

Choose the number for each dimension that means you could use some support.

  • The right friend for each need

Pick different friends for emotional, cognitive and physical help.

  • A plan written by you

Tell friends what helps, what does not, and how to reach you.

  • "I'm on it"

See which friend is responding, so you are never left wondering.

  • Kind words, ready to send

Supporters get gentle message ideas that follow your plan.

  • Chat and location

Chat with friends who accepted your request, and share your location with one friend for 30 minutes when you need them to find you.

  • On your home screen

Add BeaconLink to your phone and it opens like an app.

Features as of November 2026.

Who it is for

It is for adults aged 18 and over who find it hard to ask for help in the moment, and for the friends and family who want to help.

  • People with ups and downs

People living with ups and downs in mood, focus, energy or pain who find it hard to ask for help in the moment.

  • People with a low social battery

People, including neurodivergent people, whose mood is fine but whose capacity for company is not.

  • Friends and family

Friends and family who want to help and want to know how.

  • Peer groups

Peer groups who already look out for each other and want a quieter way to do it.

How it works

  1. Check in

Move the sliders and add a note if you like.

  2. Set it up while well

Choose your thresholds, your friends for each dimension, and write your plans.

  3. Friends are alerted

When a rating drops below your line, they get your plan and can tell you they are on it.

Questions and answers

Is BeaconLink right for me?

It depends. BeaconLink suits you if you have a few trusted people and want them to know when you are struggling without having to ask. It is not a crisis service. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number.

Who can see my ratings?

Only you. A friend sees a rating only when it drops below your threshold, and only for the dimension you chose them for. Your social battery is shared only with the friends you choose.

Do my friends have to agree?

Yes. A friend must accept your request before they can receive any alert from you.

Who can use BeaconLink?

Adults aged 18 and over. Young people are not part of this first version.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can download everything or delete your account and all your data permanently from your profile.

How are friends alerted?

In the app, and by email if they turn it on.
